Tall Back Grand Danois Teak Lounge Chair by Grete Jalk in Jean Blue Tweed

This super rare model of the taller back lounge chair in the Grand Danois series made in the 1950s for France & Son by Grete Jalk.  Both the seat and backrest with curved lumbar support are sprung for ultimate comfort, and the soft upholstered armrests curve gently over the wood armrests.  The frame has stellar sculptural lines, like the flared curved side braces and the conical legs that taper at the bottom and have a concave cup at the top.  Comes complete with a floating headrest pillow and a more generous seat than typical.  Fully restored and reupholstered in a jean blue tweed and in excellent condition – it is branded with the makers mark on the frame.  The best indication of the correct color (so hard to get it right) is the close up of the back of the lounger.  Please note the matching sofa version of the Grand Danois in a similar blue fabric pictured with the chair is also available in a separate ad.  Dimensions:  32″W x 16″H(seat)/39″H(top) x 31″D.
