Rare Danish Modern Solid Teak Trapezoidal Side Table by Hvidt & Mølgaard-Nielsen

Category:

This lovely Danish Modern early solid teak side table was designed by Peter Hvidt & Orla Molgaard-Nielsen for France & Daverkosen in the 1950s. This table design is little seen (at the point of publishing this item, there are no others listed on 1st Dibs) – it is the wider trapezoidal shape that, due to the taper towards the front of the table – works perfectly between a pair of chairs tipped conversationally toward each other. Featuring the sleek tapering knife edge detail which is only possible with a solid wood top. Finished with Classic tapering conical legs that unscrew for easy transport. In gorgeous vintage condition with no scars or stains or damage, a wonderful rich teak tone and marked by the maker’s medallion underneath. The dimensions for the table below indicate the table at its widest point. The table is 25.5″ wide at the rear and 19.5″ wide at the front.
