Percival Lafer Exotic Hardwood Mosaic 3-Panel Screen / Room Divider

This exquisite screen or room divider was designed by Percival Lafer in the 1970s and features a variety of exotic hardwoods especially Brazillian Rosewood and Jacaranda in varying heights and lengths – creating a multi-textural and multi-tonal organic mosaic that is dramatic and alluring. Use it to screen off an area, or simply place it in front of a feature wall for drama and warmth.

It would look fabulous behind a sofa and would also make a phenomenal headboard. The 3 panels are held together with leather hinges that were remade to the specifications of the original ones that were worn and not sound. The back of the screen has white arborite and there are two spots of wear noted (see photos). Otherwise, it is in wonderful vintage condition with some slight warping which is completely unnoticeable when in use and is common when solid wood is used.

Dimensions below are approximately the footprint the screen will take when open and angled. Each of the 3 panels measures 21.5″ W x 68.5″ H x 1.5″ D, and f it is placed flat against a wall it will measure 65″ W x 68.5″ H x 1.5″ D. Standing and angled, it measures approximately 60″W x 68.5″H x 10″ D.
