Pair of Afromosia Teak Caned Back Lounge Chairs by Hans Olsen in Gray Wool

This gorgeous pair of lounge chairs were designed by Hans Olsen for Juul Kristensen in the 1960s.  Made entirely of solid Afromosia Teak with Olsen’s iconic twisted caning pattern on the backrests.  These chairs are often seen with only a seat cushion – with the cane back intended as the backrest.  However, that makes the seat depth deeper which is difficult for shorter folk – so we are providing seat and back cushions for both.  The cushions have been redone with recent quality foam and new felted charcoal Melton wool covers with a top stitch detail and zippers for removal for laundering.  The original Danish cable seat straps are in fabulous condition.  The frames have been reglued and freshly oiled and the charcoal cushions show off the gorgeous caned backs beautifully.  Note the unique way the armrests finish in a angled tail and cross behind the backs of the chairs.  The conical legs are splayed and the seat cross braces flare towards the back.  Gorgeous, in amazing condition and superbly comfortable.  Sold as a pair.  Dimensions:  28″W x 29″D x 17″H(seat)/30.5″(top).
