Art Deco Harlequin Lamp with Tiered Glass Shade, 1920s JB Hirsch

Category:

This Art Deco small lamp is truly striking! Featuring a metal Harlequin figure with a pointed hood, reading a book, on a metal pedestal with edge decoration. Also referred to as “Gerdago Girl Pixie” and cited to be designed by J.B. Hirsch and distributed by Jennings Brothers. The original heavy clear stepped shade is cased in white and has red rings on each tier. Push button switch on the stem. Recently rewired and in amazing condition for its age, with minor paint losses and a small chip on the front of the figures hood near the forehead. Wired for North American electrical standards and taking a regular based bulb, max 40 watts if using incandescent, but any wattage if using florescent or LED bulbs (it is a matter of not over heating the glass shade with a higher wattage incandescent, which could cause it to crack. Both florescent and LED bulbs burn much cooler.).
